There’s always catching up to do

Why do we not make a decision and stick with it? Is it because our intelligence gets ahead of us and imagines other possibilities…glorious from this vantage, but equally flickering as you get closer. I took about three shots at how to start my blog post, before not being able to figure out anything. The first post. The one that sets the tone. The one that is supposed to be profound. Thus burdening myself with unnecessary expectations I succumb to its aftermath. Inaction.

There is of course so much catching up to do. There always is. Its almost like if you are not catching up with life, with your own thoughts, and with yourself, you are not doing enough. Well I intend to catch up some more with myself as I explore my thoughts via this medium. Blogging. A pretty unattractive name for a phenomenal idea. Let’s see how far I get with this. I hope far enough to untie a few knots on my journey towards plain, elegant, knot-less, self-discovery.

Weblog is up and walking

January 27th, 2004 admin

Finally got this feature going. Keep checking this space to see what I am upto. This weekend extended into Monday and Tuesday because of the snow/ice/sleet storm. After the December 02 storm last winter, this is the first time IBM was shutdown during working days. The adventure for this storm was in the form of a stupid attempt to keep an appointment with the car mechanic. For all I knew the place was closed due to the rapidly freezing snow on the road. I went out, saw about 5 accidents, changed my mind and tried to get back home. I did get back home and parked the car on the road in front of my house. I wanted to avoid parking on the driveway which has a 20 – 25 degree slope. I walked into the kitchen and was fixing myself lunch when I chanced to be looking out of the kitchen window. I saw my car moving. I did not believe it, but there it was again…it was moving back and was curving up towards my opposite neighbor’s house. I picked up the keys, leaped into my sandals and darted across the snowed out lawn, opened the door of the moving car, jumped in and hit the brakes, a few feet before the rear of the car would have hit the neighbor’s post box. Unable to get the car to move up the incline, I reversed it and parked it on a different road that was much flatter. I have been checking on it every few hours since then. The car is still there … unmoved and untowed.
