Tomato curry - South Indian

Ingredients:
Tomatoes(diced) 4
Onions (cut longitudinally) 1/2 (big one)
Ginger (diced) 1/2 inch
Green chillies (cut) 2
Curry leaves few
Chana dal 1/2 tsp
urad dal 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil 1 1/2 tbsp
Optional Ingredients:
Garlic (minced) 1/2 tsp
Turmeric 1/4 tsp
Method:
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.
Once they start spluttering, add chana dal and urad dal to it.
Let them roast for about 1 min and add onions.
Saute them till golden brown and add ginger and garlic.
Once they are roasted, add green chillies and roast them.
Then add curry leaves and after about 1 min add turmeric followed by tomatoes.
Mix all of them and add salt and cover the pan.
Let it cook till the tomatoes become totally soft.
Keep stirring in between so that it dosn't stick to the pan and get burnt.
It is good with rotis or rice.
