Ingredients:
Moong Dal 1 cup
Green chillies(cut/sliced) 2
Ginger (cut/sliced) 1/2-3/4 inch
Curry leaves few
Cumin seeds (Jeera) 1 tsp
Oil 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Method:
Add 1 1/2 cup water to dal and cook on the stove in an open vessel. Make sure that the dal is simmered, otherwise, it will boil over. The dal will soften in a very short time. Addition of more or less water will depend on the consistency you want.
In a separate pan, add oil and heat it.
Then add cumin seeds, green chillies and ginger.
Once they are roasted, add curry leaves, leave it on for a few seconds
Add this seasoning to the cooked dal.
Add salt and the dal is done.
For those of you who like the flavour and smell of raw ginger and green chillies, you can add them directly to the dal instead of adding them to the seasoning. It gives a very nice, different flavour.
